Anyone undertaking enforcement action that could lead to prosecution, must adhere to the guidelines set out by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) and the associated Codes of Practice. It is essential that all enforcement staff have a good working knowledge of the PACE Codes of Practice to ensure all actions are compliant with it and that there is no abuse of process.
